Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We're looking for a Senior Engineering Team Lead - Transaction Monitoring to join our ever-evolving Payrix for Platforms Transactions Monitoring team and help us unleash the potential of every business.

What you'll own as the Senior Engineering Team Lead, Transaction Monitoring

  • Own the architecture, delivery, and technical strategy for scalable Transaction Monitoring services, APIs, and UI components.

  • Lead the development of highthroughput realtime and batch processing capabilities for fraud and AML detection.

  • Lead and develop a globally distributed engineering team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and resource planning.

  • Manage to a budget and optimize cloud and operational costs.

  • Partner with Product, Compliance, Risk, and Data Science to define and deliver roadmap priorities.

  • Oversee the full SDLC and ensure strong engineering practices including CI/CD, secure coding, automated testing, and operational excellence.

  • Own Change Advisory Board (CAB) responsibilities, representing team changes for review and approval.

  • Lead resolution of critical production issues and drive rootcause prevention across the platform.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience

  • 5+ years of direct engineering leadership experience

  • Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and Angular and/or React.

  • Strong proficiency in PHP and C#.

  • Cloud-native engineering experience with AWS, including serverless, Docker/Kubernetes, and API Gateway.

  • Experience with event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, ActiveMQ, etc.) and distributed systems.

  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Git workflows, and infrastructure automation.

  • Experience working within Agile frameworks and using Jira.

  • Excellent communication, problemsolving, and stakeholder management skills.

It's a bonus if you have

  • Experience building Transaction Monitoring, AML, fraud, or risk systems.

  • Background in FinTech, financial services, or payments.

  • Experience integrating rules engines or ML models into detection workflows.

  • Relevant professional certifications related to cloud, security, engineering, or Agile leadership.

For this full-time position, the good faith estimated annual salary range upon hire is $127,500.00-$192,525.00. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on the role's responsibilities, level, and geographic location. The actual starting salary will be determined by a candidate's experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
