What you'll do:
Are you looking to develop expertise in mergers and acquisitions, technical accounting, and strategic finance while supporting some of Eaton's most significant transactions?
Eaton's Global Controllership organization is seeking a Lead Analyst, Acquisition and Divestiture Accounting to join its team at North American Headquarters in Beachwood, OH. In this role, you will support acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments throughout the transaction lifecycle. You will work closely with Strategy & Corporate Development, business finance teams, external advisors, and senior finance leadership while developing expertise in financial diligence, purchase accounting, impairment analyses, investment reporting, and transaction-related financial reporting.
You will support Eaton's acquisition, divestiture, strategic investment, and integration activities by providing financial analysis, transaction support, and accounting expertise from deal evaluation through post-close integration. This role partners with corporate development, finance teams, acquired businesses, and advisors to help execute and account for complex business transactions.
Key responsibilities include supporting financial due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments. This includes analyzing historical financial information, quality of earnings, working capital, debt-related considerations, and other transaction matters. You will prepare analyses and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to finance leadership and transaction stakeholders.
The position will also prepare and maintain reporting related to acquisition, divestiture, integration, and investment activities. Responsibilities include tracking transaction costs, preparing management reporting, supporting financial statement disclosures, and maintaining schedules for goodwill, intangible assets, and strategic investments. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to collect, validate, and analyze information used in corporate reporting and decision-making.
Additional responsibilities include supporting acquisition accounting and purchase price accounting, coordinating with valuation specialists, assisting with goodwill and intangible asset impairment analyses, and supporting accounting matters related to strategic investments and divestitures. The role will also contribute to integration and carve-out activities through reporting support, account reconciliations, documentation requests, and implementation of transaction-related accounting processes.
This position offers broad exposure to technical accounting, financial reporting, valuation, transaction execution, and strategic finance, providing a unique opportunity to build specialized M&A expertise within a global manufacturing organization.
Qualifications:

• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Five (5) or more years of accounting, finance, audit, transaction advisory, valuation, financial reporting, or related experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Master's degree from an accredited institution.
• Public accounting experience and/or experience supporting acquisitions, diligence, divestitures, strategic investments, or other complex business transactions.
• Experience working within a large, global organization.
Skills:
What will make you successful?
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate financial information, identify key issues, and translate complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations. They should demonstrate a high level of curiosity and initiative, coupled with a desire to learn and develop expertise in mergers and acquisitions, technical accounting, and financial reporting.
Success in this role requires strong organization and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The successful candidate will communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including business finance teams, acquired operations, external advisors, auditors, and senior finance leaders. They should be able to simplify complex concepts, build strong working relationships, and collaborate across functions to achieve shared objectives.
