Where is the work:

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.Technical Sales Enablement Manager

Department: Customer Driven Solutions (CDS)

Role Summary

As the Technical Sales Enablement Manager, you will serve as the critical strategic bridge between our Customer Driven Solutions (CDS) software portfolio and the broader Trane Account Manager network. In this high-impact role, you will champion the commercial enablement and market transition to our next-generation TRACE cloud-based software tool, while continuing to drive adoption, utility, and support for our established desktop portfolio (including TRACE 3D Plus and TRACE 700).

Your primary objective is to empower Trane sales teams to "sell technically" by seamlessly integrating the CDS tools into their commercial workflows. You will combine technical solution consulting, internal sales training, and commercial content development to build high-impact sales plays and application guides that turn complex software capabilities into clear, spec-securing commercial value.

What You Will Do

"Spec-In" Strategy & Software Pull-Through: Educate regional Trane Account Managers on the direct financial benefit to their own quotas when their customers (consulting engineers, design-build contractors, and owners) utilize TRACE. Empower AMs to pitch and distribute TRACE licenses to their customer network as a strategic vehicle that secures Trane equipment as the basis of design, effectively safeguarding downstream hardware sales against low-bid competitors.

Next-Generation TRACE Cloud Adoption: Lead the commercial enablement and regional onboarding strategies for the next-generation TRACE cloud-based tool. Create clear transition pathways, cloud-benefit messaging, and feature-migration resources to smoothly move sales offices from legacy platforms to the modern cloud workflow.

Competitive Value Articulation (Lifecycle vs. First-Cost): Develop, package, and scale value-selling frameworks that equip Account Managers to shift the customer conversation away from the upfront "first costs" of competitor equipment providers. Enable them to leverage TRACE modeling to prove the long-term, comprehensive "lifecycle costs," operational energy savings, and decarbonization benefits that only Trane systems can deliver.

Internal Technical Enablement & Sales Training: Design, deliver, and continuously optimize interactive training programs and onboarding curriculum that teach internal Trane Account Managers how to leverage the entire CDS software suite to win more systems business.

Solution Consulting & Advanced Technical Advisory: Act as a high-tier solution consultant and technical advisor for major or highly technical commercial opportunities. Support regional sales offices by leading advanced cloud/desktop software demonstrations, addressing complex energy-modeling questions, and proving how CDS tools solve sophisticated building design challenges.

High-Impact Sales Tool Content Development: Author, design, and maintain a robust technical sales enablement toolkit. Translate complex engineering features into high-value commercial assets such as product datasheets, competitive battle cards, technical application guides, and structured demonstration scripts.

Salesforce Integration & Performance Measurement: Partner with Sales Operations to optimize how TRACE usage and TRACE-assisted equipment opportunities are tracked within Salesforce. Establish, analyze, and report on key enablement metrics to link software utilization directly to downstream hardware revenue, using data to continuously refine training and resources.

Cross-Functional Feedback Loop: Partner closely with Product Management, Application Specialists, and Customer Success to bridge the gap between product development and the field. Synthesize field feedback and translate continuous cloud software feature releases into ready-to-use commercial sales plays.

What You Will Bring

Industry Experience: A solid background in technical sales enablement, application engineering, technical training, or product marketing-ideally within the commercial HVAC, building energy performance, or B2B SaaS industries.

Technical Acumen: Strong familiarity with building energy modeling, load design, and economic analysis. Direct experience with TRACE 3D Plus, TRACE 700, or comparable industry platforms is highly preferred, along with an understanding of modern cloud-hosted SaaS applications.

The "Pull-Through" Mindset: A strong understanding of the HVAC "spec-in" process and how consulting engineers and design partners influence equipment purchases. You understand how software acts as a catalyst to secure equipment specifications.

Commercial & Consultative Orientation: A solid grasp of the professional B2B engineering sales cycle, technical selling principles, and how sales engineers leverage software to prove lifecycle value to developers and building owners.

Content Creation & Curricula Design: Proven ability to translate complex engineering and software concepts into clear, structured, and visually compelling educational materials, sales plays, and technical documentation.

Communication & Presentation Mastery: Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills, with a proven track record of engaging, educating, and influencing remote, distributed commercial and technical teams.

Systems Experience: Familiarity with modern CRM platforms (specifically Salesforce) to track and report on pipeline influence, alongside modern sales enablement tools.
