GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of People Operations, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist will administer a wide variety of both complex and routine HR functions including administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists the department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees.
• Performs HR customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
• Supports processes related to new hires, terminations, position changes, promotions, and other changes in employment status.
• Leads new-hire orientation and onboarding, including completion of I-9s, tax forms, direct deposit setup, and other required documentation.
• Sets up new employees in the time clock system, including entering badge IDs, and trains employees on time clock use.
• Explains company policies and procedures to new and current employees.
• Supports HR events and employee engagement activities.
• Serves as a point of contact for general HR questions.
• Assists in administering benefits plans, including open enrollment, changes, and leaves. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper payroll deductions.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
• Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
• Files documents into appropriate employee files in SharePoint.
• Collaborates and provides leadership guidance on employee behavior and conflict resolution.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• At least 2-3 years of related experience working in an HR environment or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing /warehouse environment preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint or related software.
• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems. Paychex, Trakstar (Miratech), preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective organization and time management skills.
• Sound judgment and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Working understanding human resource principles, practices and procedures.
