What is a trajectory job?

Trajectory jobs typically refer to roles focused on planning, analyzing, and predicting the path or course of objects, vehicles, or systems—often in fields like aerospace, robotics, or data science. Professionals working in trajectory jobs use mathematical models and simulation software to calculate optimal paths for spacecraft, aircraft, missiles, or autonomous vehicles. These jobs require strong analytical skills and expertise in physics, mathematics, and computer programming. The work is critical in ensuring safety, efficiency, and mission success in both commercial and research settings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a trajectory analyst?

To thrive as a Trajectory Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a background in mathematics or physics, and a relevant degree such as aerospace engineering or applied mathematics. Familiarity with trajectory modeling software, programming languages like MATLAB or Python, and simulation tools are typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication help analysts interpret complex data and collaborate with engineering teams. These skills ensure accurate trajectory planning, risk mitigation, and successful mission outcomes in aerospace projects.

What are the typical daily tasks and collaboration points for a trajectory analyst in the aerospace industry?

As a Trajectory Analyst in the aerospace industry, your daily tasks often involve calculating and optimizing flight paths for spacecraft, satellites, or missiles. You will use specialized software to simulate trajectories, analyze mission parameters, and identify potential risks. Collaboration is key; you'll frequently work with engineers, mission planners, and software developers to ensure trajectory solutions align with mission objectives and technical constraints. Regular meetings and data reviews are common, allowing you to integrate feedback and adjust plans as missions progress.

Job description

As a global medtech company, we are driven by our Vision of changing the trajectory of lives for a new day and our Mission to create ingenious solutions that ignite patient turnarounds. Our relentless commitment to patients and strong legacy of innovation in healthcare are the foundation of our future. If you're looking for a new chance, a new beginning, a new trajectory, LivaNova is where your talent can truly thrive. Join our talented team members worldwide to become a pioneer of tomorrow-because at LivaNova, we don't just treat conditions - we aspire to alter the course of lives.

Position Summary

The Portfolio Value Marketing Manager is responsible for defining and activating the integrated value story of LivaNova's cardiopulmonary portfolio in North America. This role integrates all of the products and services within our total perfusion solution across muliple commercial channels. Your goal is to shift the customer conversation from individual products to a holistic, longterm partnership by clearly articulating the combined clinical, economic, and operational value of LivaNova solutions.

Rather than owning a single product, this role connects strategies, messaging, and tactics across the portfolio to help hospital customers understand how working with LivaNova brings meaningful value. The Portfolio Marketing Manager partners closely with product marketing, sales, corporate accounts, clinical, and service teams to enable customercentric, valuebased engagement with hospitals and health systems.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and lead portfoliolevel marketing strategy and brand management that unites LivaNova's cardiopulmonary products into a clear, differentiated value proposition for hospital customers.

  • Define and maintain integrated portfolio value propositions and core messaging that translate individual product benefits into a compelling systemlevel story.

  • Partner with product marketing teams to align productspecific strategies with overarching portfolio narratives, ensuring consistency without sacrificing depth or differentiation.

  • Create customerfacing portfolio tools and content (e.g., value decks, economic narratives, playbooks) tailored to clinical, economic, and executive hospital stakeholders.

  • Lead development of economic and outcomesbased storytelling, including total cost of ownership, utilization efficiency, workflow impact, and longterm value.

  • Support strategic account and IDN engagements by enabling crossproduct discussions and longerterm planning conversations that extend beyond single purchasing decisions.

  • Collaborate with sales, corporate accounts, service, and communication teams as well as outside partners to ensure portfolio value messaging is reflected consistently across commercial strategies, field tools, and customer interactions.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen portfolio differentiation, including bundled messaging, coordinated launches, and integrated product positioning.

  • Personally provide marketing management for all Cardiopulmonary service products

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and emerging thought leaders to influence strategy and stay ahead of market shifts.

  • Track and analyze market trends, proactively adjusting strategies and communicating insights to guide organizational focus and market opportunity.

  • Track progress of key initiatives, measure impact, and recommend options for improvement

  • Work within LivaNova Ethics and Integrity framework and all industry guidelines to ensure all activities are compliant

  • Take ownership of additional tasks and initiatives as needed.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Candidate must have:

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, aligning product marketing, sales, communication, and service teams.

  • Comfortable acting as a connector across teams, ensuring consistency while respecting productlevel depth.

  • Experience translating complex concepts-such as total cost of ownership, service life, and longterm value-into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Work well within teams that are not located within a specific building or geography.

  • Ability to travel regularly domestically (~25-30%) and internationally (1-2 times/year).

  • Ability to understand scientific facts and package them into a cohesive communication model for customers and sales personnel.

  • Strong analytical and financial skills to organize complex information into clear frameworks and business cases.

  • Excellent project management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and develop new programs.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with health care professionals.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor

  • Ability to prioritize under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements.

  • Solid MS Office skills including PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of the North America cardiovascular medical device marketplace and healthcare environment, ideally with deep expertise in cardiovascular clinical therapies

  • Knowledge of US healthcare and purchasing infrastructure, including GPOs and IDNs

  • Demonstrated success in healthcare industry sales, marketing, or education, preferably within Medical Device or Technology

Education:

Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, a health care related field, or a four-year degree with health care/clinical experience; MBA or MS preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 7+ years of relevant medical device marketing experience

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $125,000 - $170,000 + discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.

Employee benefits include:

  • Health benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision

  • Personal and Vacation Time

  • Retirement & Savings Plan (401K)

  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan

  • Training & Education Assistance

  • Bonus Referral Program
