From day one, you'll be part of our team, receiving hands-on training, lectures, mentoring, and real-world experience. This comprehensive one-year program furnishes all the essential components for a prosperous career in emergency veterinary medicine, encompassing vital hands-on experiences, immersive training, and personalized mentorship crucial for success. Get ER-ready in one year of accelerated learning. The EmERge program is divided into three parts:

  • 14 weeks of accelerated boot camp and initial training. The program begins with 14 weeks of accelerated boot camp and initial training. The first two weeks consist of virtual asynchronous learning, followed by an immersive two-week, in-person boot camp with the entire EmERge cohort. This includes hands-on labs, ER case scenarios, and critical practical skills. The remaining 10 weeks are spent at your primary hospital, rotating through emergency and critical care, as well as other specialties.

  • 20 weeks of hands-on, immersive training guided by an experienced clinician mentor.

  • 18 weeks of experiential training, with continued mentoring.

A one-year work commitment after training is required, totaling two years.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited veterinary school

  • Passed (or pending) the NAVLE

  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of interest

Please note that the EmERge program doesn't replace or substitute an internship required for application to a residency.

Compensation During the Program:

  • Weeks 1-14: $4615.38 bi-weekly (equivalent to $120,000 annually)

  • Weeks 15-34: $4615.38 bi-weekly (equivalent to $120,000 annually)

  • Weeks 35-52: (Market Rate starts here moving forward if you’re ready to start experiential training by week 37.
