Job description

Job Title:              Program Planner I                                                          Job Status: Full Time

Department:      Supply Chain                                                                     Reports To: Materials Manager

FLSA Status:        Exempt                                                                                Travel Requirements:  None

Work Schedule: M-F                                                                                       Base Location: Hayden, ID

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for translating customer purchase orders into a daily, actionable production plan. Program Planners provide timely and professional support to existing customers. This position will input customer orders into the company’s ERP system and assist in building tactical production schedules, ensuring orders are started on time and executing to the master production plan. Work orders are created and released by the Program Planner, who will monitor progress, so issues are mitigated or communicated. The Program Planner will provide input to production management on resource planning and long-range forecasting. As needed, coordinate with estimators and buyers so that the production plan is executable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate internally and externally to ensure customer purchase orders are received, negotiated, accepted, and input into Unitech’s business management system.
  • Regularly review existing purchase orders, aligning customer needs and production capabilities.
  • Manage customer scorecards and provide timely feedback internally and externally.
  • Provide timely status of customer’s purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with production buyers to ensure material and tooling requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors on short- and long-range resource planning.
  • Develop daily production schedules and weekly production plans
  • Create work orders and release them to the production plan.
  • Status production performance to the plan, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead continuous improvement efforts that support customer success.
  • Support sales, estimating, and business development functions through subject matter expertise in production planning.
  • Process customer returned products.
  • Coordinate with engineering and quality assurance experts to ensure product conformance is met.
  • Provide daily feedback from Operations to assist in the master production plan.
  • Support internal customer requests for information and/or reports

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of AS9100D requirements.
  • Experience with Sage 100 or similar ERP/MRP system.
  • Lean green or black belt certification preferred.
  • Ability to handle correspondence effectively and efficiently.
  • Writes with clarity and consistency.
  • Premium customer service skills. Has the ability to use customer service to gain a competitive edge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build a climate of trust and earn the respect of others.
  • Skill in utilizing MS Office suite, with advanced skill in MS Excel.
  • Ability to effectively cope with competing priorities.
  • Ability to analyze problems and generate multiple solutions

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED is the minimum educational requirement. Preference will be given to those with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, project management, supply chain, or related field.
  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years’ experience in planning or scheduling using MRP software.
  • ASCM (formally APICS) certification in production and inventory management (CPIM) or ability to gain certification within one year of appointment.
  • Experience in a composite manufacturing environment, specifically curing and machining.
