Position: Assistant Manager (Food Operations Support & Leadership Focus)
We’re looking for a motivated, creative team player to join our leadership group; someone who’s passionate about great food, strong systems, and genuine hospitality.
This role is designed to support our BOH and FOH Management Team in maintaining and enhancing The Thumb’s high standards in food operations, team development, and guest experience. This position reports directly to the General Manager. You’ll work closely with our existing leadership to assist in daily operations, develop staff, and help drive consistency and excellence across the kitchen and front-of-house.This position is ideal for someone who loves BBQ, teamwork, and building culture — a leader who brings fresh ideas, positive energy, and a “let’s make it happen” attitude.The ability to work on a rotating schedule of mornings, days, nights (we close at 7 currently) and weekends is a must. Evenings will be the majority of the schedule. Exit by 8.

  • Support the Chef and General Manager in day-to-day kitchen and service operations
  • Assist with food production, prep quality, and consistency
  • Help lead and develop both BOH and FOH staff through training and motivation
  • Work collaboratively to enhance guest experience and operational flow
  • Contribute to process improvement, efficiency, and team culture
  • Help manage purchasing, cost control, and scheduling
  • Ensure The Thumb continues to deliver excellent food and hospitality every day

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of restaurant leadership or supervisory experience (FOH Management, Kitchen Lead, or similar)
-Strong BBQ or high-volume food service background
-Proven ability to support and coordinate Chef, BOH, and FOH operations
-Experience with P&L management, purchasing, and scheduling
-Cooking experience and passion for great food is required
-Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Compensation: $65,000+ (based on experience)
