Your responsibilities
Job Summary
The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high-impact orientation and operational training programs that ensure employees meet safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role facilitates classroom and hands-on training, evaluates competency during the 90-day onboarding period, and supports the continuous improvement of training programs and materials.
This position plays a critical role in workforce readiness, standardization of procedures, and operational excellence.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
  • Facilitate New Hire Orientation programs.

  • Deliver classroom and on-the-floor training to new and existing employees.

  • Train employees on quality standards, inspection methods, SOPs, and work instructions.

  • Conduct micro-learning sessions and refresher training programs.

  • Administer written tests and hands-on proficiency assessments.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and provide feedback to leadership.

  • Maintain accurate and compliant training documentation and records.

  • Assist in developing and updating training materials using PowerPoint and other learning tools.

  • Support the consistent application of standard operating procedures across departments and shifts.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to training and employee development.

  • Support special projects and cross-functional training initiatives as assigned.

  • Support and ass ist in the oversight of the Training Ambassador program

  • Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes / Competencies

  • Travel requirements up to 30%

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to learn and correctly use additional measurement instruments (such as c alipers, micrometers, and others as required )

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Prior experience delivering classroom and hands-on training in a formal or informal capacity.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging to different learning styles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.

  • Ability to keep learners engaged th roughout classroom sessions

  • Ability to learn and correctly use measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to train employees at all organizational levels

Preferred Requirements:
  • Two-year college degree in related field

  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory

  • Experience facilitating micro-learning or blended learning classroom sessions.

  • Familiarity with skilled-based manufacturing training programs.

  • Experience with basic measurement instruments.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) and/or (French/English) - location specific .
