Job description

Assistant Facilitator

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Affton Early Childhood Center

Details: 9.5-month school year positions, with no fringe benefits. These are part-time positions, not to exceed 19.75 hours per week. Positions work the aftercare program.

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $15/hour.

Job Summary: The Assistant Facilitator provides assistance to the before and after school program by setting up and supporting activities, under the direction and supervision of the School-Age or ECE Facilitators, and maintaining a safe environment for students.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a current high school student
  • Students aged 14 and 15 may be eligible for this position – students must have a valid Work Certificate issued in accordance with Missouri law. Contact Sarah Doggendorf, Director of Human Resources and Title IX Coordinator at 314-633-5906 or sdoggendorf@afftonschools.net with any questions.
  • Prior experience or current enrollment in child development/early childhood education courses, or related courses or programs is preferred
  • The ability to be dependable and punctual is required

  • The ability to follow oral instructions is required
  • The ability to set-up for activities and finish tasks as directed by facilitators is required
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective positive professional relationships with facilitators and students is required
  • The ability to perform duties in accordance with all school and district requirements and policies is required
  • The ability to maintain confidential information is required
  • The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population is required
