Position Overview

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an experienced Project Manager (PM) to lead the EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades at the Doris Miller VA Medical Center. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of complex healthcare facility improvements, supporting the VA’s mission to provide world-class care to veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all professional and technical services related to VA design and construction delivery, collaborating with stakeholders including VISN, Health Care System, building occupants, architect-engineers, and construction contractors.
  • Provide sound management advice and proactively resolve project issues to minimize claims and delays.
  • Control project schedule and budget, continuously reviewing progress and recommending prioritization of critical path items.
  • Facilitate, manage, and document all project meetings, keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Oversee construction and administration documents, correspondence, and as-builts.
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive project management plan, including communication, schedule management, quality assurance, and risk management.
  • Prepare and submit weekly summaries, meeting documentation, inspection reports, cost estimates, schedule reviews, and project tracking reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, standards, and VA policies.

Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NACI).
  • Completion of 30-hour OSHA Safety Training, VA Cyber Security Awareness, and VA Privacy Awareness within 60 days of award.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field and 3 years’ experience in project management for construction projects OR 10 years’ experience in project management for construction projects.
  • Familiarity with The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, and VA design standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and project tracking tools.
