Position Summary
We are hiring motivated Solar Installers to join our residential installation crews. As a Solar Installer, you will work alongside experienced Crew Leads and Roof Leads to install rooftop solar panel systems on homes. This is an excellent entry point into the fast-growing solar and renewable energy industry - whether you're an experienced installer looking for a great team or someone with construction/roofing experience ready to break into solar. We provide hands-on training and a clear path for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Assist in the installation of residential rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems including panels, racking, mounting hardware, and electrical components
โ€ข Carry, stage, and position solar panels, racking materials, conduit, wiring, and other installation equipment on rooftops and job sites
โ€ข Perform roof work including laying out arrays, securing mounting hardware, and assisting with roof penetrations and flashing under Roof Lead direction
โ€ข Pull and secure electrical conduit, wiring, and junction boxes per engineering plans and NEC code
โ€ข Assist with ground-level work including trenching, equipment pad preparation, and inverter/electrical panel installations
โ€ข Follow all OSHA safety standards, fall protection protocols, and company safety procedures at all times
โ€ข Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site throughout the workday
โ€ข Load and unload materials and equipment from company vehicles
โ€ข Use power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively
โ€ข Provide a positive, professional customer experience - represent Better Earth with courtesy and respect on every job site
โ€ข Complete daily safety checklists, job reports, and documentation as directed by Crew Lead
โ€ข Drive company vehicles to and from job sites as needed
Requirements
โ€ข Previous solar installation experience - REQUIRED
โ€ข Must be at least 21 years of age
โ€ข Valid state driver's license (clean driving record preferred)
โ€ข Ability to lift, pull, and push equipment and materials to complete assigned job tasks
โ€ข Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday
โ€ข Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on rooftops for extended periods
โ€ข Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work on feet for long periods of time
โ€ข Ability to work in extreme environments including hot sun, cold weather, rain, and crawl spaces
โ€ข Great attention to detail
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills
โ€ข Excellent customer service skills
โ€ข Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
โ€ข Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข Prior experience in solar panel installation, roofing, general construction, or electrical work
โ€ข OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 a plus)
โ€ข Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment
โ€ข Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring
โ€ข Knowledge of fall protection and ladder safety best practices
โ€ข CPR / First Aid certification
โ€ข Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
