Moog's Military Aircraft Group is a global leader in designing primary and secondary flight control actuation systems (FCAS) for military aircraft. We design and integrate FCAS systems for cutting edge aircraft like the F-35 Lightning II and the V280 Valor next generation tiltrotor Aircraft. As a Software Engineer, you will:

  • Design and implement software for test application for both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Perform systems and software integration and verification activities using real and simulated hardware
  • Define and implement software requirements, perform system integration, execute verification testing, and maintain support of the software in the target environment while controlling project costs and schedule
  • Design and implement software that performs data acquisition and control for automated test equipment
  • Have knowledge of various computer interfaces, including hardware drivers
  • Stay up-to-date on advances in technology and processes for continuous improvement of accuracy, reliability, and cost
  • Develop maintainable software interfaces to electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Domestic travel may be required as needed (up to 5%)

To be considered for the role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline, preferably Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science.
  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering with software development and verification work experience
  • Experience in Python programming
  • This position requires access to United States export-controlled information.
  • Open to earlier career with relevant internships, some industry experience, and a Bachelors of Masters Degree in the above mentioned disciplines.

This position may require obtaining a U.S. government security clearance; this clearance requires U.S. citizenship.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Programming experience in Python, dSPACE, Simulink, LabVIEW computer languages
  • Experience in the aerospace/defense industry
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and have experience working with external constituencies
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and convey complex regulations/procedures
  • Experience in a Test/Development Lab environment
  • Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge in a hands-on environment

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $85,000.00-$135,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
