Join a dynamic and collaborative full stack engineering team at Instructure focused on a new initiative to aggregate and combine all assessment products into a single offering. The team consists of 8 engineers located across the EU, Brazil, and the US. The group operates fully remotely, with a mix of experience ranging from 2 to 8 years. We pride ourselves on our close-knit culture, strong interaction, and commitment to high standards of collaboration and support. If you're a Junior to Mid-level Software Engineer looking to grow your skills and make an impact on the future of educational assessment products, we'd love to hear from you!
What you will do
  • Contribute to the full stack development of a new aggregated assessment product
  • Work collaboratively with a distributed, remote team using Agile methodologies (mix of Scrum and Kanban)
  • Participate in daily standup meetings and communicate primarily through Slack
  • Utilize Jira for project tracking and workflow management
  • Ramp up quickly on the existing tech stack and solutions, understanding the history and functionality of legacy products
  • Ensure no loss of critical features that customers rely on and love
What you will need to know/have
  • Familiarity with basic software engineering principles and practices
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive; ability to find and utilize documentation independently
  • Problem-solving focus, with a preference to solve issues before escalating questions
  • Experience with at least some of the following technologies:
    • Node.js
    • Full stack development (front end and back end)
    • React (frontend)
    • TypeScript
    • NestJS (backend framework)
    • AWS products and services
    • Relational and non-relational databases
    • Kubernetes

  • Experience in EdTech or working with assessment systems
