Job description

Bring your interest in outdoor power equipment and solving mechanical problems to JAX Farm & Ranch in North Fort Collins, and make someone's day by answering questions and helping out our hard-working customers at JAX! Applicants for this role find satisfaction in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing tools, doing things like fixing that lawn mower that has been sitting in the back of the garage and debating the pros and cons of the different chainsaw brands and models available.
Our Sales Associate will be responsible for providing top-notch customer service by giving honest and informative answers about brands that are sold at JAX or used by our customers as well as cleaning, inspecting, and performing maintenance and basic repair jobs on equipment. This role acts as a sales associate in the department, is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized service area, and will help with stocking and organizing the area to best suit working needs.
All JAX employees are expected to provide excellent mechanical work, professional customer service, and step up to do additional office, cleaning or reporting work as needed. Additional tasks may include:
  • Assembling new stock
  • Accurately processing payments
  • Completing work orders
  • Maintaining a clean and well-stocked area
  • Complete record-keeping tasks and contributing to reports
  • Learning about products to provide better answers to customer questions
  • Communicating professionally
  • Presenting a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Taking steps to advance teamwork and develop solid working relationships with co-workers
  • Assisting in inventory responsibilities

Our ideal candidate has prior customer service experience, and is willing to pitch-in where needed. Additional knowledge, skills or abilities include:
  • Experience in small engine maintenance and repair required
  • Must be 18+ years of age in order to comply with Colorado Youth Employment Laws regarding power equipment
  • Must have knowledge and experience working on small motors or equipment like lawn mowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, etc.
  • Previous knowledge or experience with Outdoor Power Equipment brands carried by JAX preferred
  • Must be driven and able to self-motivate, determining priorities and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a shop in a separate building from co-workers
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Organizational skills
  • Engaging and positive
  • Attention to detail

Schedule Requirements:
  • 1 Part Time Position available
  • Flexible schedule available
  • Requires weekend work

Pay Range: $15.16 to $16.50 hourly
