Education and Experience:

Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in a field of science or Master's Degree in a field of science and two (2) years' laboratory experience or Bachelor's Degree in a field of science and four (4) years' laboratory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Postdoctoral research experience with a strong background in grant writing and assisting in securing external research funding

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee complex research projects by learning and implementing innovative techniques.

  • Develop new experimental techniques and methodologies.

  • Analyze and interpret research findings, ensuring scientific rigor.

  • Contribute to scientific publications and grant proposals, utilizing results from search and analysis of literature from multiple sources.

  • Present research findings at conferences and scientific meetings.

  • Assists PI to secure and manage research funding through grants and collaborations.

  • Maintain research program in absence of PI and plan and manage research timelines, resources, and budgets.

  • Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines for laboratory safety and research ethics, including laboratory equipment maintenance.

  • Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure maintenance equipment.

  • Supervise and mentor research associates, technicians, and trainees.

  • Stay updated with emerging trends, techniques, and technologies in the field to enhance research quality.

  • May assist in animal husbandry, collection of physiological data, and euthanasia.
