Job description

  • Build industrial control panels from start to finish following engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Perform point to point wiring, cable routing, labeling, and termination of components.

  • Mount and install electrical devices such as PLCs, VFDs, relays, breakers, power supplies, and terminal blocks.

  • Assemble mechanical components such as enclosures, brackets, actuators, motors, gearboxes, and machine subassemblies.

  • Install and align mechanical hardware, pneumatic components, and cable management systems.

  • Integrate electrical and mechanical assemblies into larger equipment or systems.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measurement instruments to ensure proper fit and function.

  • Ensure all assemblies meet UL 508A, NEC, and company standards.

  • Conduct continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and functional testing of completed panels.

  • Verify proper component selection, wiring accuracy, and adherence to design specifications.

  • Troubleshoot wiring errors, component failures, and design inconsistencies.

  • Provide guidance, training, and oversight to junior assemblers and technicians.

  • Collaborate with engineering to resolve design issues or propose improvements.

  • Review drawings and BOMs for accuracy and manufacturability.

  • Maintain accurate build records, test results, and quality documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, OSHA, and internal safety standards.

  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for panel layout, wiring practices, and production efficiency.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Assist with inventory management, component selection, and material planning.

  • Support field service or installation teams when required.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field

  • Commission new machines

  • Courteous to customers and co-workers

  • Red line schematics and drawings when necessary for engineering to correct the issues

  • Complete all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance (as needed).

  • Perform any other task or assignments as designated by supervisor.
