Job Title: Registered Nurse - Outpatient Cardiology Clinic

Location: Tarzana, CA

Duration: 13-Week Contract

Schedule: Day Shift - 5x8-Hour Shifts

Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Weekly

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy Outpatient Cardiology Clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong cardiology nursing experience, proficiency in cardiac monitoring and diagnostic testing, and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. This role requires hands-on experience with EKGs, blood pressure monitoring, anticoagulation management, and cardiac stress testing procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient cardiology clinic setting.
  • Perform and interpret EKGs, including proper lead placement and cardiac rhythm recognition.
  • Monitor and identify cardiac arrhythmias in real time.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, including accurate blood pressure measurements.
  • Perform finger-stick testing and assist with anticoagulation monitoring and INR management.
  • Assist with medication administration, preparation, and patient education.
  • Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access as required for procedures and treatments.
  • Monitor patients during nuclear medicine stress tests and treadmill stress tests.
  • Assist with vein ablation procedures and other cardiology-related interventions.
  • Manage anticoagulation clinic patients, including home and in-office INR monitoring.
  • Respond to and manage high volumes of patient communications through the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, regulatory requirements, and clinic policies.
Required QualificationsEducation
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program required.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • Current BLS Certification required.
Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience required.
  • Outpatient Cardiology Clinic experience highly preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting cardiac arrhythmias in real time required.
  • Experience performing EKGs and cardiac monitoring required.
  • Experience with anticoagulation management and INR monitoring preferred.
  • Experience assisting with cardiac stress testing procedures preferred.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular disease processes and cardiac nursing care.
  • Proficiency in:
    • EKG lead placement and electrocardiogram testing
    • Cardiac rhythm monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
    • Blood pressure assessment and monitoring
    • Finger-stick testing procedures
    • Anticoagulation management
    • IV initiation and medication administration
  • Ability to monitor patients during nuclear and treadmill stress testing.
