Job description

Position: Temp Ink Inplant Tech Trainee
Location: Newton, NC
Shift: 3rd shift, 12am-8am (Train on 1st, 8am-4pm then switch to 3rd shift)
Pay: $20/hour
Job Summary: In this role your primary responsibility is to work under direct supervision, provide color matching, formulating, and small batch blending support on-site at the given customer location. This position is responsible for assisting with ink preparation, inventory, quality checks, equipment operation, and maintaining a safe and organized work area. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Train to perform daily ink inplant operations and procedures.
  • Assist with preparing, mixing, and supplying inks according to production requirements.
  • Learn to match and adjust ink colors to meet customer and production specifications.
  • Perform basic quality checks on ink, including color, viscosity, and other required characteristics.
  • Monitor ink levels and ensure production areas have the appropriate materials available.
  • Measure and handle ink, solvents, additives, and other materials according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of ink usage, batches, adjustments, and inventory.
  • Assist with inventory management and notify appropriate personnel when materials need to be reordered.
  • Learn to operate and maintain ink mixing and dispensing equipment.
  • Clean equipment, containers, work areas, and other tools used in the ink process.
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling inks, chemicals, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with troubleshooting ink-related production issues.
  • Communicate with production personnel, supervisors, and other team members regarding ink needs and quality concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Manufacturing/printing production environment.
  • May involve exposure to inks, solvents, chemicals, machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Must follow all chemical-handling and workplace safety procedures.
  • Required PPE must be worn as directed.
