Dewberry is seeking a Structural Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to work in our Eastern, Central, or Western PA locations. The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges and a variety of transportation related structures. The candidate will also be involved in the development of proposals, contract plans, the preparation of engineer's estimates and construction specifications, and performing construction support services.

  • Perform structure related design for transportation projects.
  • Assigns tasks to and coordinates with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
  • Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.

  • BS in Civil Engineering (MS in Structural Engineering preferred).
  • 5 to 10 years of experience with PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Commission.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam is required (PE preferred).
  • Proficiency using CADD (Microstation preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of PennDOT’s structural design software and other industry-standard structural software.
  • Experience with structure related design for transportation projects including:
    • Bridges
    • Retaining Walls
    • Culverts
    • Sign Structures
    • Contract Plans
    • Engineer’s Estimates
    • Construction Specifications
    • Shop Drawing Review
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
