Job description

Stevens Engineers & Constructors has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Project Engineer Intern to join our Pittsburgh Operations Team, for a 2027 Summer Internship based out of our Canonsburg, Pennsylvania office. The Project Engineer Intern position will assist the project team in completing the deliverables successfully.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Assisting with the overall project management responsibilities including project controls, billing scheduling, estimating, budgeting and coordination of subcontractors or vendors.


Observing and /or interacting with various professionals related to the construction field including owners, project team members, subcontractors and vendors.


Attending staff and departmental meetings on an ongoing basis and any appropriate management or coordination meetings.


Assist estimators on various aspects of the bid process. Learn how to gather all the necessary information for a project and compile a bid under the direction of the Lead Estimator.


Setting up and maintaining both electronic and hard copy files.


Tracking change orders, RFIโ€™s and submittal packages.


Scanning and copying documents.


Preparing correspondences, presentations, documents, manuals, information packages and/or reports.


Performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the Project Team.


Handling requests for information and/or documents for the Project Team as required.


Assisting with special projects.


Other activities may be required to be performed as needed.


Skill Factors


Proficient with Microsoft Office products and become familiar with the various types of construction centric software for estimating, scheduling and project management.
