Job description

Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineer interested in developing their career to join our structures department in any of our Virginia offices. The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, and other ancillary structures). The candidate will be involved in the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages. This position offers tremendous potential for professional growth in a vibrant working environment and the opportunity to deliver important infrastructure projects for our clients as well as help them solve their most challenging problems.   • BS in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural engineering required; MS preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience working on structural and bridge engineering projects.
  • Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred or ability to obtain within 1-2 years.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications; experience with VDOT and/or MD SHA standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of OpenBridge Designer, Leap Bridge Concrete, CSiBridge, and/or similar analysis programs preferred.
  • Proficiency using CADD (Microstation preferred).
  • Strong written and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and desire to deliver the highest quality projects to our clients.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
