Job Title: Low Voltage Technician

Trainee for HVAC Building Automation Technician

Position Overview:

Uhl to provide on the job training to become a HVAC Building Automation Technician.

Uhl is a union contractor. We will help facilitate the process to become a union low voltage electrician. You will represent the company by serving as direct contact, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location

Essential Job Functions:

· Communicates with the customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff

· Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes

· Coordinates with account managers, the service department and customers to precisely understand requirements for all on-site programming, installation and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work

· Demonstrates ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers

· Is responsible for creating and downloading programming, start up, functional testing, and troubleshooting on assigned projects

· Uses cutting edge software and technology along with a variety of other tools, to troubleshoot local controllers, communication wiring, programs, and schedules to identify concerns and determine corrective action

· Continually enforces safety to the highest standards

· Provides technical guidance to diagnose control system concerns

Position Requirements:

· Must be able to pass a background check.

· Advanced written, verbal, customer service and relationship building skills.

· High level organizational skills.

· Strong multi-tasking skills.

· Flexible, willingness to be able to adapt to change.

· Ability to work well with others both internally and externally including in stressful situations.

· Computer knowledge

· Knowledge of industry is recommended but not required.

· Candidates should have at least 2 years of technical and/or field related experience

· State of MN power-limited technician (PLT) license, a huge plus

· Understanding of Commercial HVAC systems, a huge plus
