Job description

Job Summary:
WEICHAI AMERICA CORP. is seeking a Product Manager for Lean Burn Gas Power Generation to manage product lifecycle activities in coordination with global engineering teams. The role involves supporting North American market development initiatives and acting as a liaison between regional market requirements and the global team to ensure product alignment with customer needs and long-term portfolio development.
Responsibilities:
• Support the development and execution of product strategies for lean-burn gas engines and gensets used in power generation applications, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and regional market needs.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, customer requirements, and growth opportunities to support product positioning and future development initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and global product teams to support the development and enhancement of lean-burn gas engine and genset products, with a focus on performance, reliability, serviceability, and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and service teams to support product launches, customer engagement activities, technical support initiatives, and ongoing market development efforts.
• Gather and communicate customer and distributor feedback to internal stakeholders to support continuous product improvement and market responsiveness.
• Provide product training and technical support to sales teams, channel partners, and customers to enhance product knowledge and commercial effectiveness.
• Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and market response using established KPIs and reporting metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support cross-functional coordination between North American operations and global engineering teams regarding product requirements, technical discussions, and market needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related technical field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, applications engineering, business development, sales engineering, or related roles within the power generation, industrial engine, or energy industry.
• Demonstrated experience working with lean-burn gas engines, gaseous-fueled power generation systems, gensets, or related industrial energy technologies.
• Strong understanding of power generation systems, engine technologies, emissions considerations, and applicable industry standards.
• Proven ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and support strategic business decisions based on market and customer insights.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional and international teams and influence stakeholders in a matrixed organizational environment.
• Proficiency with project management tools, product lifecycle management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong business acumen with a customer-focused and market-driven approach.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
Preferred:
• Advanced degree is a plus.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin is considered an asset due to regular interaction with engineering and product teams based in Weifang, China.
