Senior Certified Flavorist - Beverage & Sweet Food - Cranbury, NJ
MAIN FUNCTIONS: Beverage & Sweet Category Senior-level Flavorist to develop winning flavor solutions in partnership with our chosen customers. This position will have majority of focus on one of ADM's global enterprise accounts and will work with the global team of Scientists and Flavorists on projects while collaborating very closely with the customer. This Senior Flavorist will support this and additional customers by driving sales in the organization through:
  • Creating compelling, innovative, and winning flavors
  • Demonstrating superior ingredient & technology knowledge
  • Mentoring future Flavorists through patient teaching and open information sharing
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Flavor Creation Skills: >15 years of experience in the flavor industry with a proven track record of expertise and sales in the Sweet & Beverage categories. Citrus and emulsion experience is a plus.
  • Communication: The position requires well-developed communication skills across all functions, both internally and externally. Able to present technical information to customers
  • Project Management: The position requires the candidate to manage multiple customer and internal requests concurrently with speed, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Leadership: The position requires foundational leadership skills that are expected to grow over the candidate's career at ADM
DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:
  • Collaborate deeply with the focused account contacts while effectively communicating and working with our internal departments.
  • Independently manage creative projects and drive outstanding sales performance in the Beverage and Sweet categories
  • Develop creative and innovative Flavors across all applications within the category
  • Work with integrated ADM flavor & extract development to define a robust portfolio of flavoring ingredients useful to our customers
  • Develop a strong network of relationships with customers
  • Collaborate with the flavorist community to ensure transfer of knowledge
  • Participate in ADM Flavorist Academy, mentoring Flavorist Trainees to develop creations for applications within the segment
  • Work with Marketing to promote the category, message and publicize our competencies
  • Work with Account Managers to identify opportunities for the Beverage & Sweet categories
  • Participate on all high potential Beverage & Sweet projects
  • Travel: able to travel up to 25%
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Proven track record of success in the F&F Industry, notably in the Beverage & Sweet categories. Capable of creating innovative flavors upon joining the organization.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher (chemistry /Food Science preferred)
  • At least 10 years working as a Flavor Chemist on the bench
  • Must be a member in good standing in the Society of Flavor Chemists, if US-based
  • Knowledge of all flavor raw materials, flavor chemistry, flavor creation & composition
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and delivery technologies, most notably spray drying, Citrus, and emulsions
  • Highly developed project management skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
