Experienced Software Development Engineer: Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and fixes/patches.

Knowledge: An experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. This position is concentrated on the mainframe platform, with development in Assembler language.

Job Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

Experience/Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science and 5+ years of related experience or Masters degree in engineering/computer science and 3+ years of related experience

Job Description

This position is concentrated on the mainframe platform, with development in Assembler and Metal C.

We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to produce and implement functional software solutions for delivery to our customers. This will involve development on existing mainframe-based products. You will work with product management to help define software requirements and implement the solutions in a small development team environment. In this role, you should be able to work independently with little supervision while also collaborating with team members. You should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills, and experience in Agile development methodologies. The individual and team goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business objectives.

  • Producing, testing and debugging software solutions
  • Providing peer leadership in an Agile team environment
  • Technical interaction with product management and customers
  • Coordination with management and internal teams
  • Automating tasks through appropriate tools and scripting

  • Ensuring software is up-to-date with latest technologies

  • Proven Mainframe knowledge and skills
  • Proficiency in IBM Assembler language and Metal C programming languages
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and Security ESMs
  • z/OS Operating system familiarity
  • Source control systems experience (Endevor)
  • Interactive debugging tool (XDC) and dump reading experience
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Database design and SQL skills
  • Experience developing/utilizing test automation
  • Familiarity with Java programming language is a plus

Additional Job Description:

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is$91,000 - $146,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
