Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position at a Level III Trauma Center in Wisconsin, requiring at least 2 years of Cath Lab experience with critical care background and ACLS certification.

Details
  • Work in a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab consisting of 2 rooms: one EP/Cath room and one dedicated Cath Lab
  • Patient population includes diagnostic and interventional cath cases using femoral and radial approaches, IFR/FFR, and balloon pumps, as well as EP procedures including pacemakers, AICDs, loop recorders, diagnostic EP studies, and right-sided ablations
  • Average of 4 cases per day
  • This is a 24/7, 365 STEMI Program
  • EMR: Epic (experience required)
  • Hemodynamic system: Maclab; IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis; imaging: GE C-arms
  • 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Floating is limited to between rooms within the department and the pre-op area
  • Weekend on-call required: 8 AMโ€“12 PM on Saturdays and Sundays for stress tests, TEEs, and cardioversions
  • Holiday on-call coverage is required
Requirements
  • Active WI or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • Critical care experience (ED or ICU) required
  • Experience with balloon pumps and temporary pacers required
  • Most recent experience must be within the last year
  • 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
  • Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include performing and assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, EP procedures, and STEMI response as part of a round-the-clock program
  • Travelers are not expected to independently monitor hemodynamic cases on the Maclab system
  • Department support includes a receptionist/HUC, respiratory therapy, and hospitalist coverage
  • Strong teamwork, interdisciplinary communication, and willingness to teach and educate others are essential in this role
  • Scrubs are provided; lead aprons are available on-site, but candidates are encouraged to bring their own
  • Free parking available on-site
  • RTO requests must be approved through the manager
  • Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
