Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Trainer - Machining to plan, develop, and deliver technical training programs for field support personnel and customers. This role focuses on machining and production operations within a manufacturing environment and includes classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate in-house product training programs
  • Prepare training materials, course content, lesson plans, and training aids
  • Determine training methodologies and develop criteria to evaluate training effectiveness
  • Conduct classroom, skills-based, and on-the-job training in assembly and production areas
  • Support development and implementation of new training programs, processes, and manufacturing sequences
  • Maintain training rosters, examination results, and certification records
  • Monitor trainee progress and ensure compliance with training requirements
  • Continuously update lesson plans to reflect new processes and technical changes

Top 3 Required Skills & Experience
1. Machining Technical Expertise
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in machining environments (CNC and/or manual machining)
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, feeds and speeds, and materials
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications

2. Technical Training & Instruction
  • 4-6+ years of experience developing and delivering technical training programs
  • Proven ability to conduct classroom, skills-based, and on-the-job training
  • Experience creating lesson plans, training materials, and evaluation criteria for adult learners

3. Manufacturing / Production Operations
  • 4-6+ years of experience working in manufacturing or production environments
  • Experience supporting new process implementation, work instructions, or production sequencing
  • Ability to track training progress, maintain certification records, and evaluate trainee competency

Shift Options
Candidates must be able to work one of the following schedules (Monday-Thursday):
  • First Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Second Shift: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM

Travel Requirement
  • Yes - Up to 4 months of training in Virginia prior to returning to Charleston, SC

Work Environment
  • Primary Work Location: Charleston, SC (post-training)
  • Onsite Position: Remote work is not available
  • Facility Access: Elevator available

  • MSA Skull Gard Hard Hat (appropriate size)
  • Welding shield compatible with MSA Skull Gard Hard Hat
  • 3M PELTOR Optime 95 Earmuffs (earplugs not permitted)
  • Kleenguard Calico safety glasses
  • Steel-toe boots

Basic Qualifications
  • 6 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field
    OR
  • 4 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree in a related field
