Job description

As the CNC Operator you will be working under the direction of the CNC Department Supervisor. The CNC Operator uses CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines to cut and machine various metals and plastics, such as aluminum, steel, and polycarbonate. Responsibilities include reading prints, properly setting up each machine before beginning work, and verifying parts are accurate once complete. We expect each CNC Operator to be proficient at setting up and running all the CNC machines in our warehouse. Communication and team cooperation is essential to the success of the warehouse and CNC team and is expected in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities:

โ€ข Assist with setup and operation of a variety of CNC machines.
โ€ข Plan routing by analyzing work orders, prints, BOMs, and other required paperwork.
โ€ข Select and maintain proper tooling.
โ€ข Select raw materials.
โ€ข Learn the program cut sequence for each router from SolidWorks drawings.
โ€ข Input offsets during job runs.
โ€ข Cross-train in other departments and/or perform other warehouse tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
โ€ข Perform standard maintenance tasks.
โ€ข Maintain efficient output for all jobs.
โ€ข Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
โ€ข Communicate with other team members about any issues, needed equipment or tooling, or problems with jobs.

Qualifications:

โ€ข High school diploma or GED required
โ€ข Working knowledge of machinery and measurement tools
โ€ข Strong communication and interpersonal skills
โ€ข Familiarity with machining callouts and CNC applications, including waterjet, press brake, and VMC
โ€ข Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
โ€ข Proficiency in time management, including the ability to prioritize
โ€ข Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
โ€ข Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and good record keeping
โ€ข Show initiative, thoroughness, and accuracy
โ€ข Perform all duties independently with minimal supervision
โ€ข Assume responsibility for staying aware of changes in company policies and procedures
โ€ข Maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors and other staff members. Demonstrate a positive attitude.
