Position Overview

Workstation Specialist 

Office Furniture CenterLocation:  Chicago, IL 60644Hours: 8:00-5:00pm,   Mon-Fri, Pay: $60,000 - $65,000 annually with bonus potential

Summary:

The Workstation Specialist supports the retail and wholesale sales teams by creating detailed workstation (systems furniture / cubicle) designs, pricing, specifications, and bill of materials in response to client needs. Knowledge of systems furniture is helpful but not required. Strong AutoCAD skills and computer technologies, with attention to detail, creative thinking are important to your success. We're seeking a technically skilled, organized, and motivated professional who enjoys turning ideas into buildable, accurate designs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly across departments, and takes pride in precision and follow-through.

As the Workstation Specialist, you will play a key role in transforming client requirements into accurate 2D and 3D layouts, renderings, quotations, and order documentation. This position works both independently and cross-functionally with sales representatives, marketing, inventory specialists, and fulfillment teams.

Responsibilities:

  •  Interpret client requirements and identify appropriate inventory solutions
  • Develop accurate 2D and 3D workstation layouts using AutoCAD
  • Create high-quality renderings using rendering software
  • Generate detailed quotations using company software
  • Produce complete Bills of Materials (BoM) from finalized designs
  • Create product part lists to support order fulfillment

 

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in CAD, Mechanical Drafting, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 1-3 years of design-related experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
  • Experience with image rendering tools
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Commercial office furniture experience (preferred)
