We are currently seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer for our Owensboro, KY office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible for performance engineering, technical oversight, and advanced troubleshooting of large rotating equipment across the natural gas pipeline system, including compressors, drivers (motors, engines, and turbines), and all skid-mounted auxiliary systems. Serving as the subject matter expert and owner’s engineer for rotating assets, this role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical equipment by focusing on performance optimization, reliability improvement, emissions compliance, upgrade opportunities, and root cause analysis. The position supports both day-to-day operations and long-term asset optimization initiatives and works cross-functionally with Field Operations, Operations Engineering, Project Execution, Asset Integrity, and vendors to maintain asset integrity, minimize unplanned downtime, and enhance the overall performance and lifecycle of rotating equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical problem-solving & troubleshooting skills
  • Strong computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word).
  • The ability to work independently without direct supervision, to maintain good working relationships with internal (company) and external contractors, and to share knowledge with others.
  • A strong work ethic with demonstrated initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to personal and team safety and ethical business practices.
  • Ability to travel to field locations as required.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting rotating equipment in an industrial or energy environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Reciprocating engines and compressors
    • Centrifugal compressors
    • Natural gas fired turbines
    • Auxiliary systems (lube oil, cooling, fuel gas, controls, emissions)
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic & electronic controls
  • Demonstrated experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle for Projects, Purchasing, and Payable Reporting.
  • Previous experience in project estimating, master service agreements, scope of work documents, and project scheduling

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
