Full-Time Shift Lead Server — Private Country Club 

Food & Beverage (FOH)

Full-Time

Position Summary

The Shift Lead Server provides outstanding hospitality to members and guests while serving as a working lead during assigned shifts. This role will bartend and serve, manage the flow of service at the shift level, ensure accurate ordering and timing, maintain an upscale club standard, and help the team stay organized and guest-focused.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Leadership (Working Lead)

  • Lead service coverage during assigned shifts (open, manage, and close as needed)
  • Coordinate with the Supervisor to ensure proper staffing and station readiness
  • Coach and train servers/support staff on service standards, pacing, and guest recovery
  • Maintain smooth communication between servers, bar, and kitchen (FOH/BOH)
  • Step in to resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly

Bartending Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to club standards
  • Take drink orders accurately; recommend selections as appropriate
  • Maintain speed and accuracy during peak periods while staying polished and courteous
  • Ensure proper ID checking and compliance with alcohol service policies
  • Keep bar stocked and organized (liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, mixers, straws, etc.)
  • Maintain bar cleanliness and sanitation per club and health/safety standards
  • Accurately complete drink tabs/orders and follow POS procedures

Serving Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, member-first service in assigned sections/tables
  • Take food orders accurately and communicate notes/special requests to kitchen
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and check back for satisfaction
  • Follow club plating/presentation standards and handle special requests appropriately
  • Maintain section cleanliness throughout service (sidework, resetting tables, etc.)

Standards, Safety, and Compliance

  • Follow all sanitation and health/safety guidelines
  • Adhere to Colorado and club alcohol service requirements at all times
  • Report equipment issues, low inventory, or supply needs to management
  • Support proper closing procedures (inventory counts when required, cleaning, liquor control as applicable)

Event & Banquet Support (as needed)

  • Work and lead during member events, banquets, and private functions
  • Maintain organized bar/service flow  for large groups and special menus
  • Assist with setup/breakdown as assigned and communicate event priorities to the team

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a bartender and/or server in a restaurant or hospitality environment (lead experience preferred)
  • Ability to lead a shift while working hands-on (multitasker, calm under pressure)
  • Strong communication and guest-service skills; professional and discreet with members
  • Reliable availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Proficiency (or willingness to quickly learn) club POS and ticketing systems
  • Ability to accurately handle drink orders and maintain service pace

Certifications / Compliance (as applicable)

  • TIPS / responsible alcohol service training (or willingness to obtain)
  • Any club or state-required alcohol handling certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 lbs (e.g., beverage cases, supplies, trays)
  • Ability to stock, bend, reach, and move items throughout the property
  • Ability to work in indoor/outdoor environments and adapt to seasonal conditions

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in private clubs, fine dining, or banquet service
  • Familiarity with wine/spirits and drink knowledge (craft cocktails preferred)
  • Experience with opening/closing bar procedures and inventory controls
