Job description

Now Hiring: Trailer Welder / Mechanical Technician

Location: Tallahassee, FL
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay: $22 - $24/hr DOE
Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Trailer Welder/Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance and repair of our semi-trailer fleet. This role requires practical, hands-on experience working directly with commercial semi-trailers and their core operating systems. The right candidate will be comfortable diagnosing issues independently, performing structural repairs, and ensuring equipment remains road-ready and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

•Execute welding repairs and light fabrication specific to semi-trailers and related components
•Inspect, service, and repair trailer air brake systems to ensure safe operation
•Diagnose and repair 12-volt electrical and lighting systems, including troubleshooting intermittent issues
•Perform preventative maintenance and respond to mechanical breakdowns as needed
•Identify wear, damage, or compliance concerns during routine inspections
•Document completed repairs and communicate findings with operations staff
•Maintain shop organization and follow all internal safety protocols

Qualifications:

•Prior experience working on semi or commercial trailers
•Strong working knowledge of air brake systems and trailer electrical components
•Welding experience applicable to trailer repair, Aluminum MIG, and TIG
•Ability to diagnose mechanical issues without step-by-step instruction
•Familiarity with DOT standards and general fleet compliance requirements
•Dependable work ethic and attention to detail

Preferred Experience (Not Required):
•DOT inspection certification
•Experience working in fleet maintenance, terminal operations, or trailer service facilities
•Technical training or welding certifications
