Job Description / Summary
The Trailer Wash Manager provides leadership for the daily operation of the Williamston Trailer Wash facility, ensuring trailers are cleaned, dried, and processed in accordance with the company's biosecurity and operational standards. This role leads the wash team, coordinates facility operations, oversees preventive maintenance activities, and ensures equipment and processes support safe, efficient trailer turnaround.
Success in this role requires balancing hands-on operational leadership with strong people management. The Trailer Wash Manager works alongside the team to understand daily operations, coaches team members, drives accountability, resolves operational issues, and partners across departments to improve efficiency, equipment reliability, and biosecurity compliance.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coach, and develop trailer wash team members while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily trailer wash operations, ensuring approximately 20-30 trailers are processed each week according to established quality and biosecurity standards.
  • Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the wash floor to support the team, monitor workflow, and resolve operational challenges.
  • Ensure all trailer washing, heating, drying, and release processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor compliance with company biosecurity, environmental, and safety standards while maintaining required documentation and records.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities and perform basic troubleshooting of wash equipment, high-pressure systems, and facility assets.
  • Partner with Maintenance to identify equipment repairs and recommend improvements that increase reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Manage building operations, vendor coordination, and facility-related activities.
  • Monitor operational metrics and identify opportunities to improve productivity, trailer turnaround, and process efficiency.
  • Conduct performance discussions, corrective action conversations, and support hiring and onboarding activities.
  • Collaborate with Transportation, Maintenance, HR, and Operations teams to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Support emergency response and equipment issues outside of normal business hours when operational needs are required.

Qualifications & Competencies
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing, transportation, industrial, logistics, agriculture, or related operations.
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Basic understanding of industrial equipment, high-pressure wash systems, or preventive maintenance principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, approximately 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with occasional weekends or after-hours support as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in food production, agriculture, transportation, or industrial wash operations.
  • Experience using maintenance or operational management software such as Transman.
  • Facility or building maintenance coordination experience.

Location & Working Type
Location: Williamston, NC
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, approximately 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Work is performed in an industrial trailer wash facility with regular exposure to wet environments, high-pressure equipment, varying temperatures, noise, and outdoor conditions. This role requires standing and walking for extended periods and may involve occasional weekends, holidays, or after-hours support in response to operational or equipment needs.
