Job description

Role: Project Manager - Energy/Utilities

Location: Auburndale, FL

Employment Type: 12 month W2 Contract, potential for extension

Travel: Between Lakeland, Bartow, Auburndale, FL (reimbursed for mileage and gas)


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop project charters and define scope, budget, and deliverables
  • Initiate and manage projects in PowerPlan (project database)
  • Refine project estimates (Level 5 +/-50% to Level 1 with 10–15% contingency)
  • Lead engineering/design review phases prior to execution
  • Partner with planners for materials and execution readiness
  • Manage execution phase including:
    • Contractor coordination
    • Safety compliance
    • Field observations
    • Cost tracking and schedule adherence
  • Submit projects for additional funding or approvals as needed 


Requirements:

  • PMP preferred (strong understanding of 5 project phases required):
    • Engineering
    • Planning
    • Execution
    • Commissioning
    • Closeout
  • Strong cost tracking and scheduling experience
  • Experience managing estimates (Level 5 to Level 1 refinement)
  • Leadership experience (will oversee project support resources)
  • Experience in power generation or industrial environments (5+ years preferred)
