Job description

CERTIFIED FLAGGER | $20/HR STARTING PAY | PORTLAND METRO AREA, OR

GLISS is hiring certified flaggers to join our team and work on job sites throughout the Portland Metro area! This is a great opportunity for individuals who are reliable, safety-focused, and interested in working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Certified flaggers are encouraged to apply. For those who are not currently certified, certification may be available with a required fee.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Control traffic flow and ensure safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians around work zones
  • Set up and maintain traffic control areas according to safety guidelines
  • Use hand signals, signs, and communication devices to direct traffic
  • Communicate with construction crews and supervisors to maintain a safe work environment
  • Monitor work zones and report any safety concerns
  • Follow all traffic control and job site safety procedures
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times


Schedule Details:

  • Day shift available
  • Night shifts available depending on job needs
  • Flexible assignments throughout the Portland Metro area


Qualifications:

  • Current flagger certification preferred
  • Certification option available for those who qualify (fee required)
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites
  • Must have all required safety gear and PPE
  • Must be dependable and arrive on time
  • Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
