Who are we?
Private Medical has spent the last 20 years creating a new category of concierge medicine - private medicine - by designing a system that honors the relationship between patients, physicians, and each member of the care team.
Based in California, New York, and Florida, our physician-led teams work in concert with our gynecologists, Naturopathic Medicine Doctors, curated local specialists, elite medical centers, and specialists around the world, to provide relationship focused, evidence-based, longitudinal care to our members and their families. Private Medical is, by design, privately held and free from any conflicts of interests.
What will you be doing in this role?
You will practice in a personable, non-hospital environment that prioritizes exceptional, personalized care and hospitality. Success is measured by quality, safety, and member experience-not speed or volume. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and care team members to deliver the right care, at the right time, from the right team, with nursing and PCA coverage available during business hours to support physicians and members. Hospitality is a core job requirement and must be practiced consistently with patients and colleagues. The role is designed for operational flexibility to meet dynamic clinical and member needs while maintaining a consistent foundation across sites.
Responsibilities
- Support teams of physicians and nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a consistently excellent member experience, integrating both technical and emotional aspects of care and service.
- Deliver comprehensive, customized, and hospitality-forward patient care; practice a genuine welcome, attentive listening, timely responses, and thoughtful anticipation of needs in all interactions.
- Prepare for and conduct home visits (house calls), independently or with a nurse/physician, ensuring safe, professional, and reliable service door-to-door.
- Perform blood draws, EKGs, specimen collection, swabs, and administer routine and travel vaccinations within scope; maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and labeling standards.
- Accurately document all therapies, medications, and clinically relevant interactions in the electronic medical record in real time; ensure entries are complete, clear, and audit-ready.
- Provide cross-coverage within MA/phlebotomist scope during teammate PTO or leave; flex to support same-day appointment blocks and add-ons consistent with site coverage goals and schedules.
- Communicate directly with members as needed, fostering trust, continuity, and reliability; escalate clinical concerns promptly.
- Maintain current knowledge of Standards of Practice, Private Medical workflows, and tools; contribute to systems and structures that set teams up for success and operational reliability.
- Participate in a culture of continuous improvement: use data and feedback to inform decisions, identify bottlenecks, and suggest pragmatic workflow innovations; help maintain a reliable feedback loop.
- Collaborate across disciplines and, where applicable, with automated tools or systems, ensuring tasks are performed competently regardless of whether executed by people or automation.
About You
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience.
- Certifications: Certified Phlebotomy Technician required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a demonstrated hospitality mindset and service orientation; alignment with PM values, including compassionate care, a growth mindset, and continual evolution.
- Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment while collaborating effectively within a team; adaptable to changing priorities to support coverage and member needs (operational flexibility).
- Positive, proactive, and professional demeanor; strong organization and time management.
- Immunization or proof of immunity required for MMR, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis.
- Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in Apple products and EMR workflows.
- Local travel for home visits; reliable transportation.
Schedule and Coverage Expectations
- Standard business hours coverage, with flexibility to support same-day capacity, float coverage, and site needs so members receive the right care at the right time from the right team; nursing and PCA coverage targets underpin scheduling and cross-coverage norms.
Competencies
- Hospitality as a core value: Warm, professional engagement; personal recognition; anticipatory support; consistent sense of safety and comfort for members and colleagues.
- Operational flexibility: Adapts scheduling and responsibilities within scope to meet dynamic member and operational needs while safeguarding care quality and team well-being.
- Data-informed and improvement-oriented: Uses data, feedback, and iteration to enhance reliability and reduce bottlenecks; embraces innovation that removes roadblocks.
- Team and leadership enablement: Contributes to systems and structures that help teams thrive; collaborates constructively with Operations and clinical leadership per PM role delineation.
Alignment with Private Medical's Principles of Clinical Staffing
- Anchors PM's vision to deliver the right care, at the right time, by the right team, through reliable coverage, hospitality-forward interactions, and safe, competent clinical work.
- Expands the range of role profiles and flexes responsibly to support demand, preserving a consistent foundation across sites while honoring local needs.
- Practices hospitality as a defined requirement and participates in continuous improvement informed by data and feedback.
