Job description

Description

Position Summary:

As a QE Trainee, you will initially focus on mastering Low Voltage and Electrical skills under the guidance of industry experts to ensure successful installations. You will support superintendents and technicians in preparing projects for stage completions while actively participating in our in-house development program. This program is designed to build a strong foundation in our core trades, with the potential to expand into a multi-trade superintendent or service technician role as the company grows. The ideal candidate is driven, deadline-oriented, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, expanding environment.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist assigned Superintendents in preparing Low Voltage and Electrical trade stage completions and complete punch-list items to ensure 100% stage readiness.
  • Install, maintain, and repair Low Voltage systems in new construction environments, ensuring all work meets L&S quality standards and local municipal codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan efficient component layouts and wiring installations for Electrical and Low Voltage systems.
  • Perform detailed walkthroughs at the end of each stage to assess code compliance and stage readiness for inspection. 
  • Systematically test all installations to identify and resolve technical issues, while maintaining accurate records of work performed and any repairs made.
  • Transport materials to job sites across multiple service areas and manage electronic communications to ensure real-time coordination with the field team.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of basic codes, regulations, and requirements specific to each neighborhood or municipality.
  • Actively participate in the in-house development program, mastering the progression from Low Voltage to Electrical work and preparing for future multi-trade opportunities.

Primary qualifications 

  • Prior experience as a plumbing, electrical, LV or HVAC helper in residential, new construction preferred but not required. 
  • Own a reliable vehicle to be used for work purposes-van or truck preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with little supervision. 
  • Driven to grow and open to feedback. 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including:

  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and extreme      temperatures
  • Climbing ladders and stairs; crawling, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 50+ pounds on a routine basis
