Job Summary:
The Sr. Communications & Marcom Manager is the strategic voice and storyteller for a fast-growing global specialty chemicals company. This role leads the development and execution of integrated communication strategies that strengthen the company's reputation, elevates its brand, and engages employees across regions. The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, thrives in a technical B2B environment, and understands how to translate complex science into compelling narratives across internal and external channels.
This role will lead campaign execution by creating marketing collateral, newsletters, and promotional emails, and will focus on building brand awareness, managing trade shows, corporate webinars, and promotional events. Additionally, the Sr. Communications & Marcom Manager will drive the creation of blogs, web copy, and social media content, while using analytics to track return on investment (ROI) and measuring success of campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Communications
  • Develop and manage a cohesive internal communications strategy that aligns employees around company goals, culture, and transformation initiatives. Own and maintain Valtris Connect (intranet).
  • Partner with executive leadership to craft clear, engaging messaging for town halls, leadership updates, and organizational announcements.
  • Produce internal newsletters, intranet content, video messages, and employee engagement campaigns.
  • Support change-management communications for global initiatives and projects across all functions.
  • Monitor employee sentiment and communication effectiveness, recommending improvements based on data and feedback.

External Communications & Public Affairs
  • Lead corporate brand positioning and messaging across global markets, ensuring consistency and differentiation in a competitive specialty chemicals landscape.
  • Manage media relations, including press releases, media inquiries, and relationships with trade publications and industry reporters.
  • Oversee crisis and issues-management communications, ensuring preparedness and rapid, coordinated response.
  • Support government affairs and regulatory communications in partnership with legal, compliance and regulatory teams.

Digital & Social Media Strategy
  • Own the company's digital brand presence across LinkedIn, YouTube, website, and emerging platforms relevant to B2B audiences.
  • Create and manage a content calendar that highlights innovation, sustainability, customer success, and corporate culture.
  • Analyze digital performance metrics and optimize content for reach, engagement, and lead generation.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital touchpoints and global business units (Performance & Functional Additives).

Brand & Marketing Communications
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure alignment between corporate brand messaging and product-level marketing.
  • Support development of brand guidelines, visual identity, and messaging frameworks.
  • Oversee production of corporate collateral, videos, presentations, and trade show materials/coordination.
  • Tradeshow management and event coordination for the Valtris brand.
  • Customer communications related to price increases, product discontinuations, and product changes.
  • Create external presentations/scripts/posts for Valtris leadership to support presentations at conferences, customer events, and social media.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • 7-10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or brand management, ideally within chemicals, manufacturing, industrials, or other technical B2B sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-channel communication strategies across global audiences.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex technical topics.
  • Experience managing social media for corporate brands, including analytics and content strategy.
  • Demonstrated success in crisis communications and reputation management.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with senior leaders, scientists, engineers, and commercial teams.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on content creation.
