Job description

Project Manager II - Interactive/Digital
Location: Irvine, CA | Remote or Onsite - Must be available to work West Coast hours
Contract: 12 months, with potential extension based on performance and business needs
Hours: Up to approximately 40 hours/week; 40 hours are not guaranteed and weekly hours may fluctuate based on project workload.

Orion Group's pharmaceutical client is seeking an Interactive Project Manager to support the planning and execution of digital projects and integrated marketing campaigns.
This role will partner closely with creative teams, account services, developers, technical partners, and external vendors to move digital deliverables from initiation through development, review, approval, and final deployment.
The ideal candidate brings creative/advertising agency experience, hands-on digital project management expertise, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage digital and interactive projects from kickoff through final delivery, ensuring timelines, scope, milestones, and budgets remain on track.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, scopes of work, status updates, and supporting documentation.
  • Lead status meetings with internal teams and clients, identifying project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
  • Manage digital projects through internal routing and approval processes using Workfront/ProofHQ.
  • Prepare assets and documentation for Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review within Veeva.
  • Coordinate resources across creative, studio, programming, account, and technical teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party development and deployment vendors.
  • Manage vendor expectations, provide project updates, and resolve issues impacting delivery.
  • Schedule team meetings, capture key decisions, and distribute recaps and action items.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, project files, estimates, and other department documentation.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 5+ years of project management experience, preferably within a creative, advertising, or marketing agency environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing interactive and digital projects.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant business, industry, and project management experience.
  • Strong understanding of digital project lifecycles, web technologies, and current digital trends.
  • Familiarity with different project management methodologies and working styles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Workfront/ProofHQ and Veeva/MLR processes is highly valuable.

Contractor Hours
This is a contract position, and a 40-hour work week cannot be guaranteed. Once fully ramped up, the workload is generally expected to average approximately 40 hours per week; however, hours may fluctuate based on project activity, MLR review timelines, development cycles, projects being placed on hold, and other business needs.
