Job description

Position Summary

To analyze, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions on a wide variety of CNC machinery and misc. facility equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a wide variety of CNC machinery and misc. facility equipment. Technician must be able to apply electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical expertise and troubleshooting aptitude to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Performs preventive and predictive maintenance procedures on equipment and reports findings regarding additional work and repairs to leadership.
  • Requires the ability to use electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment such as "multi-meters", and other tools necessary for servicing applicable equipment.
  • Coordinates and/or performs assigned work. Works with contractors and other maintenance personnel, if necessary, to ensure repairs are made properly and with minimum impact on operations.
  • Maintains open communications with supervision and customer department personnel. Documents all activities and departmental procedural requirements
  • Manages all hazardous waste satellite and storage containers; performs weekly hazardous waste container inspections and arranges for disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with all local, State, ad Federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • EDUCATION: High school diploma and formal technical training preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronics, computerized/programmable controllers or other manufacturing technology applications.
  • Must have a functional understanding in the use of blueprint, electrical schematics, and ladder logic diagrams. Specific documented experience of service work directly related to this field and demonstrated ability can be substituted for this requirement if the candidate has a minimum of 1 year electrical/electronics, computerized/programmable controllers or other manufacturing technology applications in their previous employment.
  • EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1-year documented experience in a maintenance skilled trade related to the intended assignment maintenance experience, or apprenticeship, in a related additional applicable trade or skill set

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Training

  • Hazardous waste training shall be provided to employee within six months of the date of the employee filled this position and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter. Employee shall be supervised until training is completed.
