Job description

Why Choose Mallory?

For more than 40 years, Mallory has provided industrial organizations with safety expertise and supply chain efficiency, along with a broad array of safety products and solutions. At Mallory Safety & Supply, we get energized by applying thought and creativity to provide best-in-class solutions. That energy has fueled multi-faceted growth, leading us to quadruple in size over the last 20 years. We are the largest independently held safety distribution company, with 35+ locations and over 600 employees.

As Mallory has grown, we’ve expanded our capabilities through our ENSA North America division, which delivers specialized safety training and field services across North America. ENSA is an industry leader in hands-on safety training focused on working at heights, rescue, confined space, and fall protection. ENSA designs and builds customized training environments and mobile training structures that allow customers to experience realistic, practical safety scenarios in controlled environments.

Unlike traditional classroom-based safety programs, ENSA’s training approach is immersive and highly hands-on. The team supports customers across a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, utilities, energy, and industrial operations. From permanent training towers to mobile training systems and customer site support, ENSA helps organizations build safer, more prepared workforces through real-world application and technical expertise.

This role plays a direct part in bringing those training environments to life. Whether supporting shop operations, preparing materials, traveling to customer sites, assisting with structural builds, or helping maintain equipment and facilities, your work directly contributes to ENSA’s ability to deliver impactful safety solutions across North America.

Mallory has always been family-owned and privately held. Our business model is customer-based — we thrive by providing basic service brilliance. We offer a casual work environment, professional development and promotional opportunities, and a culture guided by 33 core values that make up The Mallory Way. We are looking for dedicated, motivated, and smart team members who want to grow with us.

About the Role

Mallory Safety & Supply is currently hiring both a Build Technician I and Build Technician II to join our ENSA North America team in Mukwonago, Wisconsin!

These are highly hands-on, dynamic roles that blend fabrication support, construction, shop operations, travel, field installation, and facility support. In these positions, you’ll help build, assemble, transport, and maintain ENSA’s modular training structures and mobile training environments used across North America.

No two weeks look exactly the same in this role. One week, you may be organizing materials, cutting raw materials to size, and preparing components in the shop. Another week, you may be traveling to customer sites, supporting tower builds, assisting with trade show setup, or helping maintain ENSA facilities and equipment.

Both Build Technician I and Build Technician II perform similar core work and collaborate closely as part of the ENSA build team. These are not supervisory levels. Instead, the distinction between the two roles is primarily based on travel expectations, experience level, and project complexity.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, adapting as projects evolve, and being part of a team that builds unique training environments from the ground up.

Build Technician I vs. Build Technician II

Build Technician I

  • Primarily supports local shop operations and regional field support
  • Occasional travel for builds, customer support, or trade shows
  • Typically travels only a few days per month, depending on project needs
  • Ideal for someone looking for a more locally based role with periodic travel opportunities

Build Technician II

  • Supports extended field assignments and customer project installations across North America
  • Heavy travel role with frequent overnight and multi-week assignments
  • Travel schedules may include rotations similar to three weeks onsite and one week home, depending on project demands
  • Ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, working in changing environments, and supporting large-scale field projects

Both roles receive paid travel expenses and per diem while traveling. Build Technician II roles may also qualify for additional travel differential compensation due to the extended travel demands associated with the position.

At Mallory Safety & Supply, We Offer:

  • Options for Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Employer-paid Long-Term Disability
  • Voluntary Term Life, Accident, and Disability Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program, including financial wellness resources
  • 3 weeks of Paid Time Off per year
  • 7 paid holidays
  • Yearly appraisal and bi-annual reviews
  • Employee discounts and Mallory Swag
  • Certifications and continued development opportunities
  • Opportunities for promotion and growth
  • Monday–Friday dependable schedule
  • Paid travel expenses and per diem when applicable
  • A positive company culture — check out The Mallory Way on our website!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Organize and stage materials, tools, and equipment for upcoming builds and projects
  • Cut and prepare raw materials to required specifications
  • Assist with assembly and fabrication of modular training structures
  • Support onsite tower builds and mobile training environment installations
  • Travel to customer sites, company locations, and trade shows as needed
  • Assist with trailer loading, transportation preparation, and jobsite setup
  • Help coordinate and maintain inventory, materials, and shop organization
  • Assist with facility maintenance projects, including general building upkeep, painting, landscaping, and snow removal
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shop equipment safely
  • Support trade show setup and teardown efforts
  • Assist with troubleshooting and adapting builds when project needs evolve
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in required safety trainings

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who enjoys hands-on, physical work and takes pride in building and creating
  • Ability to adapt and problem-solve in changing environments
  • Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
  • Previous fabrication, construction, shop, maintenance, mechanical, or hands-on project experience preferred
  • Experience working with tools, materials, and equipment in a shop or field environment
  • Comfortable traveling periodically or extensively depending on role assignment
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Experience towing trailers or operating larger trucks is a plus
  • Forklift experience or willingness to become certified
  • Welding experience, particularly TIG welding with aluminum or steel, is a plus but not required
  • Ability to lift 20–50 pounds and work in physically active environments
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

Hiring great people is the most important thing we do.

If you are dependable, hands-on, adaptable, and enjoy a role where you can contribute both in the shop and in the field, we offer an environment where you can grow and make an impact.
