They manage trade compliance, negotiate contracts with suppliers and buyers, and ensure that all transactions adhere to international trade laws and regulations. Their role often involves analyzing market trends, optimizing supply chains, and developing strategies to increase profitability. Trade Managers also work closely with logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods across borders.

Every container you touch supports critical supply chains and strengthens connections between ports, rail, and inland distribution networks.
This is a place where collaboration drives performance, and where safety and innovation are at the core of everything we do. You'll work with dedicated teams who take pride in problem- solving and continuous improvement. Here, your work makes a tangible impact across the region and beyond.
Why you'll love it here
Be part of a growing gateway on the U.S. Gulf Coast
Work in a collaborative, hands-on operating environment
Contribute to expanding logistics and intermodal capabilities
Continuous improvement mindset - where curiosity is encouraged, root-cause problem solving is valued, and making things better every day is part of how we win

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving - observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.

What We Can Offer
At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Lead the deployment of advanced Operations Technology solutions that support terminal modernization and operational excellence.
  • Work closely with global teams, suppliers, and local stakeholders across a highly collaborative international environment.
  • Build expertise through hands-on involvement in large-scale technology deployments from roadmap creation through stable operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that directly influence terminal performance, safety, and long-term business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end deployment of Operations Technology products, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and safety requirements.
  • Manage and develop a team of Operations Technology specialists while coordinating suppliers, project teams, and terminal stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement through daily management routines, standard work, problem-solving activities, process confirmation, and kaizen initiatives.
  • Oversee deployment planning, integration, testing, commissioning, go-live support, and transition to stable operations.
  • Manage deployment risks, product integrity, performance reporting, stakeholder communication, and escalation processes.
  • Ensure operational readiness through capability building, knowledge transfer, change management, and local product adoption.
  • Maintain operational support, inventory control, spare parts management, preventive maintenance plans, and system performance monitoring for deployed OT solutions.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset-curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently put customers first, lead by example with respect for people, deliver results with integrity, and drive continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Strong Operations Technology expertise, including Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), Equipment Control Systems, PLC/SCADA, industrial networks, API/middleware integration, OPC UA, 5G wireless technologies, cybersecurity, and FAT/SAT/UAT testing.
  • Proven project management experience, preferably within container terminals, ports, industrial operations, or similar complex technology environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain Project Management Plans (PMPs), manage competing priorities, and deliver deployment outcomes in dynamic operational settings.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and people leadership skills, with the ability to work autonomously and drive organizational change.
  • English proficiency and a valid TWIC card are required.

Location: Mobile, AL
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
