Are you ready to dive into the fast-paced world of commodity trading and risk management? The Energy Authority (TEA) is looking for motivated and ambitious individuals eager to gain hands-on experience across the North American Power and Gas markets. This multi-month program with our Jacksonville trading team will put you right at the heart of transactional and analytical support for TEA’s East Real-Time and Day-Ahead Trading Desks.

As a Trading Intern, you won’t just be shadowing – you’ll be contributing! You’ll get the chance to participate in a variety of client engagement activities and reporting efforts while developing skills essential to the energy trading industry. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to grow within TEA, with successful interns having a clear path to future full-time roles.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Accurately recording trades across various terms and products in the booking system
  • Analyzing deal flow and collaborating with settlement teams to assess liquidated damages
  • Monitoring portfolio strategies and providing performance metrics reports to managers
  • Identifying process improvements and updating documentation
  • Managing multiple client portfolios in real time
  • Monitoring real-time data feeds to offer timely, reliable responses to changing conditions
  • Coordinating resource scheduling to meet system obligations
  • Gaining hands-on knowledge of the Power Management and Trading environment

Your Skill Set:

  • Currently working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business, engineering, finance, economics, math, statistics, or a related field
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • A passion for thriving in fast-paced, collaborative environments
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel; programming experience (Visual Basic, Python, etc.) is a plus

  • Successful interns will be considered for full-time Scheduling positions, with a structured career path to Portfolio Management.
