Job description


First Hawaiian Bank is seeking an Equity Trader and Analyst to join our Asset Management team in Honolulu. This role is responsible for executing equity, ETF, and mutual fund trades as directed by Investment Officers and other departments within the Wealth Management Group. The position maintains and develops asset allocation strategies within the trading system to support portfolio management strategies. The Equity Trader and Analyst provides support in resolving trade execution and settlement issues and offers execution-related insights to Investment Officers and Managers. The role contributes to analytical and compliance functions that support the overall operations of the Asset Management Group and supports the updating and management of internal and external marketing material for the Institutional Advisory Services Division.
The salary range for the role is $70,000-$90,000/year, commensurate with skills and experience.
Responsibilities
Executes equity, ETF, and mutual fund trades as directed by Investment Officers and other departments within the Wealth Management Group. Maintains and develops asset allocation strategies within the trading system to support portfolio management strategies. Provides support in resolving trade execution and settlement issues and offers execution-related insights to Investment Officers and Managers. Contributes to analytical and compliance functions that support the overall operations of the Asset Management Group. Supports the updating and management for the internal/external marketing material of the Institutional Advisory Services Division.
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with institutional advisory, trust, or private wealth management services.
  • Three (3) years of experience in equity trading, equity portfolio management, or related experience inclusive of:
    • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory issues related to securities
    • Familiarity with current landscape of equity markets
