The primary role of the Mobile Equipment Service Technician is to travel to customer or dealer locations, process work orders for customer repairs, as well as servicing/repairing their equipment. The range of equipment includes diesel-powered compact tractors from 24HP up to 78HP, as well as garden tractors, mowing equipment and other types of lawn and garden maintenance equipment. This position is also responsible for service parts ordering as well as filing warranty claims. This is a full-time, hourly position that will require travel. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability and knowledge required for this position, including having a minimum of three years of related professional experience. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required. The candidate shall also possess good customer communication skills.
  • Provide high-quality off-site repair services on all work orders
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment & tools
  • Responsible for completing all warranty paperwork in a timely manner
  • Daily accurate documentation of work performed
  • Daily travel to customers or dealer locations
  • Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle
  • Responsible for special order parts for all work orders
  • Responsible for completing service work in a safe and timely manner
  • Use of computer systems to identify parts and troubleshoot systems
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints and drawings
  • Provide a safe environment by keeping work areas clean & organized
  • Possess strong communications skills as customer interaction will be frequent and will include equipment sales support, and customer education skills.
  • Prepare daily updates of work completed, problems identified, and future schedule
  • Loading and unloading of customer machines for repair and delivery
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic servicing of customer machines
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties
  • Participate in the equipment sales process if needed
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, organize workloads, and meet deadlines
  • Operate machinery and equipment such as gantry cranes, electric hoists, servicing and diagnostic equipment, service trucks, and multimeters
  • Will perform general office equipment use with repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
  • Verbally communicate effectively and professionally with all audiences (in-person or via handheld transceiver)
  • Lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively
  • Use a ladder and/or pallet jack
  • Operate service truck/travel long distances
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties

  • Expert mechanical abilities in small engine, diesel, and hydraulic systems, including professional experience servicing sub-compact and compact utility tractors at a tractor dealership
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless handheld unit

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00 per hour, with exact compensation determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
