Job description

Diamond T Services is looking for experienced operators to join our mowing, maintenance and restoration team. Must have experience operating tractor mowers with 15' and 20' decks, preferably along roadways and right-of-ways. Work consists of, but is not limited to commercial and government projects providing mowing services and at times hand trimming and litter removal. Under general direction from and reporting to the Operations Manager. Other equipment operating experience a plus such shredders, backhoes, front end loaders, trenchers, excavators, forklifts, skid steers, and trucks with trailers. Is responsible for general maintenance and safe operation of said equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
  • Operate mowing equipment as required.
  • Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, road and access prep, and related assignments.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Reports on all incidents and attends safety meeting on a regular basis.

Physical Responsibilities:

  • Frequently ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
  • Lift and carry 55 pounds.
  • Operate heavy machinery and equipment day and night.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience (Commercial Tractor Mowing/Shredding)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required
  • A valid driver's license and clean MVR
  • Ability to obtain a Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Ability to operate a smart phone and applications
  • Complete simple arithmetic functions
  • Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
  • Ability to operate hand/power tools
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold depending on location
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively both written and verbally
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • Maintain Company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal criminal records, driving records and controlled substance/drug testing.
