Tracking Pixel Jobs in Minnesota (NOW HIRING)

Tracking Pixel information

What is a tracking pixel?

Tracking pixels are small, invisible images embedded in emails or web pages that collect data about user behavior. When a user opens an email or visits a web page with a tracking pixel, information such as IP address, device type, and user actions are sent back to the server. Marketers and website owners use tracking pixels to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and understand user engagement. While they help optimize marketing strategies, tracking pixels also raise privacy concerns, so their use is often regulated.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital marketing tracking specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Marketing Tracking Specialist, you need a solid understanding of web analytics, data tracking methodologies, and digital marketing principles, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with tools like Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and conversion tracking platforms is essential. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills help you implement accurate tracking and explain insights to stakeholders. These competencies ensure reliable data collection, enabling effective campaign measurement and optimization for business growth.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals managing tracking pixels in digital marketing campaigns?

Managing tracking pixels often involves coordinating with multiple teams such as web development, analytics, and marketing. Common challenges include ensuring correct pixel placement, avoiding duplicate or missing data, and maintaining compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA. Attention to detail and clear communication are essential, as even a small error in pixel configuration can impact campaign tracking and reporting accuracy. Regular testing and collaboration with other stakeholders help mitigate these challenges and ensure effective campaign measurement.

Job description

About Ovative Group

Ovative Group is an independent, full‑funnel media, measurement, and creative firm. We help brands such as Best Buy, Domino's, American Eagle, The Home Depot, Post, Disney, Tumi, Michael Kors, Boost Mobile, and UnitedHealth Group transform their media and measurement programs. Our proprietary MarTech platform, EMRge, uses Enterprise Marketing Return to measure business performance holistically.

About the Role

As Ovative continues to grow, we need someone to expand and scale our website tagging, pixel support, and data quality infrastructure. The data and analytics core of the firm makes this role sit at the intersection of those disciplines. The Sr. Analyst, Measurement – Data Integration will serve as the subject‑matter expert on modern tracking infrastructure, including server‑side tagging, CAPI integrations, and pixel implementations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and QA of server‑side tagging solutions across client environments.
  • Act as a technical advisor to clients seeking self‑managed implementations, translating complex tagging architectures into clear guidance.
  • Review and validate client‑led implementations against platform best practices, providing structured feedback and escalation paths.
  • Manage and document tag implementations across past and current client engagements.
  • Stay current on evolving server‑side tagging capabilities in Google Tag Manager, Tealium, and other TMS platforms.
  • Monitor and adapt to vendor pixel, event, and conversion tracking changes as they are released.
  • Lead QA of newly launched tags and pixels in conjunction with media analysts.
  • Provide traffic pixel and tagging details—including naming, placement, and code—to clients on time, aligned to their development sprint schedules.
  • Troubleshoot implementation and deployment issues with urgency, keeping data impact implications top of mind.
  • Understand the landscape of multiple websites across platforms in relation to current and future tracking states.
  • Act as the primary client contact for all pixel, tagging, and CAPI requests during implementation, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Produce client‑facing documentation, including implementation guides, QA checklists, and tagging specifications tailored to each client’s technical capability.
  • Clearly communicate updates and key details to both internal and client stakeholders.
  • Serve as liaison during UAT troubleshooting, coordinating between the client, development teams, and internal analysts.
  • Coordinate internal requests with client development sprint schedules to ensure timely media launches.
  • Regularly meet with analyst counterparts to stay current on vendor and client updates.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of server‑side tagging and CAPI integrations (Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions, etc.).
  • Experience with Tealium iQ and Adobe Experience Platform Tags (Launch) as primary TMS platforms; familiarity with Google Tag Manager is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of front‑end web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Data Layers.
  • Experience partnering with development teams to outline requirements and QA tagging implementations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical details for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred: Experience in a marketing agency environment.
  • Knowledge of different SST implementation paths—direct API/manual code, partner platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, HubSpot), GTM server‑side containers, and gateway solutions like Meta's Signals Gateway or AWS‑hosted CAPI Gateway.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR and CCPA requirements as they relate to passing user data server‑side.
  • Pay transparency.
Compensation & Benefits

We offer a transparent view into three core components of your total compensation package: Base Salary, Annual Bonus, and Benefits. Salary for the Sr. Analyst ranges from $75,000 to $93,000, inclusive of a 15% bonus. Benefits include:

  • Health insurance (including same‑sex partners).
  • 401(k) match program.
  • Paid vacation and generous paid travel to our Minneapolis headquarters.
  • Monthly stipend for mobile phone and data plan.
  • Sabbatical program.
  • Charitable giving through time and financial match program.

Policies reflect this commitment—including inclusive medical leave benefits for same‑sex partners.
