Position Overview

We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This role requires someone who can work effectively with project teams and client personnel, communicate clearly, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and maintain a strong focus on continuous improvement and quality control.

A wellrounded background in these areas supports the diverse scopes found across our industrial, energy, and power projects.

District Overview

Kiewit Southwest District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water projects. We operate primarily in Arizona, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. Southwest's projects include a wide range of infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, runways, terminals, transit systems, power plants, water treatment facilities, dams, canals, wastewater treatment plants and tunnels.

Location

This position will be located in Arizona initially. 

Candidates must be open to relocation or extensive travel based on project needs, skill development, and career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Implement projectspecific Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Review and approve subcontractor ITPs.
  • Perform receiving, inprocess, and final inspections across mechanical, electrical, or civil scopes.
  • Verify compliance with contract documents, drawings, codes, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate inspections and tests with operations teams to maintain project schedules.
  • Interpret and apply quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with district quality management to ensure consistent quality program execution.
  • Conduct measurements, testing, and documentation using calibrated equipment.
  • Review, log, and track inspection and test documentation.
  • Prepare complete, accurate quality documentation packages.
  • Maintain full traceability of materials, inspections, and testing activities.
  • Participate in operations planning sessions to ensure quality requirements are integrated.
  • Communicate quality expectations and issues in project meetings.
  • Interface with clients and regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Ensure all quality documentation is completed, organized, and retained.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to all site safety hazards and warning indicators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Experience in at least one of the following disciplines is required: Civil or Mechanical
  • 5+ years of experience in construction quality control or inspection.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to highquality results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement abilities.
  • Ability to access all areas of a construction site.

Willingness to travel and relocate as needed.
