This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. In this role you will be responsible for programing, setup, operating, and assisting multiple technologies such as Taylor Hobson; Blue light; CMM; laser tracker; Romer arm; manual layout mechanical inspection using Blueprints to inspect machined and received components. Perform first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections. Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data. Document, track and complete discrepancy reports. In addition, there will be times that you will need to provide inspection time estimates. Maintain and track inspection equipment calibrations. Support process improvement initiatives. Maintain configuration control on files and job records and safely work within an industrial environment.
As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will share in the team's impact on all aspects of developing, testing and launching Space systems to support Blue Origin's Vision. Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
  • Laser Tracker Experience
  • Blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, schedules, and operational demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:
  • CAD and MBD system knowledge, preferably Creo
  • PC DMIS Software knowledge
  • Leica and Spatial Analyzer knowledge.
  • CMM Experience
  • Taylor Hobson experience
  • Atos GOM and Zeiss Inspect software knowledge
  • Blue light experience
  • Basic machining knowledge.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
  • Outside processing knowledge (heat treatment, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.)

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
